2011 Year of Pak China Friendship


The State Bank of Pakistan will start issuing Rs. 20 Commemorative Coin through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from 21st May, 2011. This is in line with the Federal Government’s decision to issue the coin to commemorate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China as well as to celebrate the “2011 Year of Pak China Friendship”.

The metal composition, shape, dimension and design of Rs. 20 commemorative coin are as under:

Metal Composition: Cupro Nickel, Copper 75%, Nickel 25%.
Diameter: 30 mm.
Weight: 9.5 grams.

Obverse:

The waxing crescent moon and a five pointed star facing north-west in rising position is in the center on the obverse side of the coin. Along with periphery on the top of the crescent star is inscribed in wording Islami Jamhoria Pakistan in Urdu script. Below the crescent and at the top of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward, there is the year of issuance 2011. The face value of the coin in numeral ‘20’ in bold letters and Rupee in Urdu Script are written on the right and left sides of crescent star respectively. A circle of sixty small beads is all along the edge of the coin.

Reverse:

On the reverse side of the coin, ”60” is inscribed in numeral wording in bold letters. The wording “2011 YEAR OF PAK CHINA FRIENDSHIP” in English is written on the top of coin along with the periphery. Wording in numeral “1951-2011” at the bottom of the coin and above it, a handshake is depicted. A circle of sixty small beads is all along the edge of the coin.
